Willesborough Infant School

Welcome Reception - September 2020

Welcome to Willesborough Infant School!

We were so pleased to hear that you and your child will be joining us at school in September and we do hope that we will be able to welcome you to the Willesborough Schools very soon.

We are so sorry that we are not able to offer you the opportunities we normally offer our new entrants at this present time because of the Coronavirus.  Welcoming our new children and their families into our school is a very exciting time for us and we will be doing everything possible to ensure that your child receives the same opportunities as other cohorts, even if this means offering them later, perhaps through the summer holidays.

We hope that you enjoy our website and in particular this page.  Our lovely Willesborough team have also created a special Facebook page for you called 'Willesborough Kittens' - make sure you follow that also.  We will be working together to add lots of information for you and your child to enjoy.  New information will be posted every week, so please keep visiting us here and on the Facebook page.

We hope that we can meet you very soon.  In the meantime, take care.

Executive Headteacher

We would love to receive messages and photographs from you and your child via the Let's Share email address (below) we have set up for our Reception 2020 cohort, otherwise known as Kittens.  You may like to send in a photo of a picture your child has made, a model, their favourite toy, a special event or just a photo of them.  When we receive a message from you, we will reply.  We look forward to hearing from you.

Below you will find short profiles of our Reception teachers.

We would love to learn a little about your child/children too - perhaps you could send a photo with a short paragraph about their family and what their interests are via the  Kittens Let's Share email -

Nursery Rhyme Challenge

We will be posting some fun videos of the reception teachers performing nursery rhymes for you!  Nursery rhymes help your child develop their early reading and phonics skills.  It will also help improve their ability to distinguish rhymes.

We look forward to practising these altogether when you start school in September and we hope you enjoy beginning to learn them now.

Here is a useful nursery rhyme website that might help you:

Keep your eyes peeled as each teacher will be uploading their nursery rhyme video in the next few weeks!
